This policy covers how SubmitMyInvention treats personal and invention submission related information that they collect and receive as a result of your use of the SubmitMyInvention system. It further covers how SubmitMyInvention will use the invention submission information referred to InventionHome. Personal information is information about you and or your company that is personally identifiable like your name, company name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available. Invention submission information is any information submitted through your use of the SubmitMyInvention online system. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that SubmitMyInvention does not own or control, or to people that SubmitMyInvention does not employ or manage.
SubmitMyInvention collects personal information when you register with SubmitMyInvention or when you use their system. When you register we ask for information such as your name, company name, mailing address, email address, phone number and industry. When you register with SubmitMyInvention and sign in to our system, you are not anonymous to us. SubmitMyInvention also collects personal and invention related information submitted to your company by independent, third party inventors or companies. SubmitMyInvention automatically receives and records information from your computer and browser, including your IP address, SubmitMyInvention cookie information, software and hardware attributes, and the page you request. SubmitMyInvention uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the content you see, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide reporting for internal reasons.
SubmitMyInvention does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you or invention related information with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances: We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with SubmitMyInvention under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help SubmitMyInvention communicate with you about offers from SubmitMyInvention and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information. We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. SubmitMyInvention may set and access SubmitMyInvention cookies on your computer. SubmitMyInvention uses web beacons to access SubmitMyInvention cookies inside and outside our network of web sites and in connection with SubmitMyInvention’s products and services.
You can edit your SubmitMyInvention Account Information, including your account profile and account settings, at any time. Furthermore, you can access and edit invention related information submitted to your company through the SubmitMyInvention system. We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the SubmitMyInvention service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the SubmitMyInvention Newsletter, that are considered part of your SubmitMyInvention account, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. You can terminate or delete your SubmitMyInvention account by contacting SubmitMyInvention.
SubmitMyInvention may update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your SubmitMyInvention account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
